Elizabeth McGovern is an American actress whose Hollywood career started in the 1980s. She debuted in the film Ordinary People. She was then acclaimed for her role as Evelyn Nesbit in Ragtime. She had notable roles on The Brotherhood of Poland, New Hampshire and Three Moons over Milford. In the 2010s, she had supporting roles in Kick-Ass, Clash of the Titans, and The Chaperone. She also became widely known for her role as Cora, Countess of Grantham in the British series Downtown Abbey.
