Biography:

Ella Purnell was born on 17 September 1996 in London, England. When she was younger, she studied acting, singing, and dance at the Sylvia Young Theatre School. She made her professional debut on the stage, performing on the production of Oliver! After this, she landed the role of the young Ruth in the 2010 film Never Let Me Go.

That same year, she had a role in the film Ways to Live Forever. Afterward, she performed in the Spanish film Intruders. She went on to have performances in the movies Kick-Ass 2, Wildlike, Maleficent, and The Legend of Tarzan. In 2016, she played Emma Bloom in the movie Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children. Next, she appeared as Helen Garrett in Churchill. More recently, she played the lead role of Tess in the Starz series Sweetbitter.
