Biography:
Ellen Barkin was born on April 16, 1954 in The Bronx, New York. She studied at the Manhattan’s High School of Performing Arts and attended Hunter College where she double majored in history and drama.
Her breakthrough came in 1982 when she starred in the film Diner. The following year, she starred in the drama film Tender Mercies. She has since starred in other successful films like The Big Easy and Sea of Love.
She has also done some work in made-for-television films such as Before Women Had Wings, for which she received an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress.
