Biography:

Ethan Hawke was born on November 6, 1970 in Austin, Texas, United States. He made his film debut with the 1985 feature Explorers. Four years later, he made his breakthrough in the drama Dead Poets Society.

He has since starred in such movies as White Fang, A Midnight Clear, and Alive. He then gained critical praise for his portrayal of Troy Dyer in the coming-of-age feature Reality Bites.

In 2001, he starred as Jake Hoyt in the film Training Day, for which he received his first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He also gained fame for his portrayal of Jesse Wallace in Before Sunrise and its sequels Before Sunset and Before Midnight.
