Biography:

Ewan McGregor was born on March 31, 1971 in Perth, Perthshire, Scotland, UK. He studied drama at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

In 1993, he won a leading role in the Channel 4 series Lipstick on Your Collar. He then made his film debut in Bill Forsyth’s Being Human. The following year, he had a breakthrough performance in Danny Boyle’s Shallow Grave.

This also marked his first collaboration with director Danny Boyle, starring in his other films such as Trainspotting and A Life Less Ordinary.

In 2001, he starred in the film Moulin Rouge!, earning him a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor.
