Forest Whitaker is a Hollywood actor. He started his career in the 1980s with a small role in the 1982 film Tag: The Assassination Game. Later in 1988, he received praise for his performance as Charlie “Bird” Parker, Jr. in the film Bird. For his work here, he got a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor. In the 1990s, he starred in the films Body Snatchers, Species, and Phenomenon, among others. The following decade, he had notable performances in Panic Room, Phone Booth, The Great Debaters, Vantage Point, and Street Kings. For his portrayal of Idi Amin in the 2006 film The Last King of Scotland, Whitaker won the Academy Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA for Best Actor. More recently, he starred as Titus “Tick” Wills in Southpaw, Saw Gerrera in Rogue One, and Zuri in Black Panther. He currently plays Eddie Barker in the television series Empire.
