Biography:

Gemma Chan was born on November 29, 1982 in London, England, UK. She attended Worcester College, Oxford where she read law. After graduation, she successfully obtained a training contract at a leading law firm but declined to pursue a career in acting.

Shortly after, she studied at the prestigious Drama Centre London. Her acting career started when she appeared as Molly Nelson in When Evil Calls. She has since starred in such films as Shanghai, Submarine, Jack Ryan and The Double.

On television, she became known for her role as Mia Bennett in Doctor Who and as Charlotte in Secret Diary of a Call Girl.
