Biography:
George Clooney was born on May 6, 1961 in Lexington, Kentucky, U.S. He made his acting debut in 1978 and subsequently gained fame for his portrayal of Dr. Douglas Ross in the medical drama ER, receiving two Emmy Award nominations.
His fame in ER led him to land lead roles in such mainstream films as Batman & Robin, Out of Sight, and Three Kings. He achieved wider notoriety in 2001 for his work in Ocean’s Eleven. The following year, he made his directorial debut with Confessions of a Dangerous Mind.
In 2005, he won his first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Syriana and later earned Academy Award nominations for his roles in Michael Clayton, Up in the Air and The Descendants.
