Biography:
George MacKay was born on 13 March 1992 in London, England. While attending The Harrodian School, he was discovered by a talent scout and asked him to audition for a role in Peter Pan. He ended up getting the part of Curly. The film was released in 2003, marking his cinematic debut. The following year, he made his TV debut in an episode of the British show Rose and Maloney. He later appeared in the British-German feature The Thief Lord, as well as appeared in the miniseries Tsunami: The Aftermath.
In 2008, he had a role in the film Defiance. He later performed in the movie The Boys Are Back. In the 2010s, he had performances in the feature films Private Peaceful, How I Live Now, and Sunshine on Leith. He next starred in the movie For Those in Peril, for which he won Best Actor at the Scottish BAFTA Awards. More recently, he had notable roles in the films Captain Fantastic, Marrowbone, and Been So Long. This year, he portrayed Hamlet in the movie Ophelia.
