Hollywood actress Gillian Anderson began her career in the 1980s. In the 1990s, she gained prominence for her role as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully on the TV series The X-Files. She reprised her role in the film version The X-Files. The following decade, she had roles in the films The House of Mirth and The Last King of Scotland. She went on to play Dana again in The X-Files: I Want to Believe. In the 2010s, she also became known for starring as DSI Stella Gibson on the British series The Fall. At the same time, she played Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier on Hannibal. Her most work was as Anna Pavlovna Scherer on the BBC miniseries War & Peace.
The 49-year-old actress maintains her youthful beauty and toned figure by eating healthy. In an interview, she said: “I’ve always been interested in the raw food diet but I’ve been told by a couple people that it’s not particularly good for women. I like the idea of eating that clean; that appeals to me. But, I’ve never been brave enough to actually try it for any period of time. When it comes to my diet, I usually stay away from high carbs.” Eating healthy is vital for her because it makes her feel her greatest.
She stated: “I’m doing all the things I know are good for self-care. When I get enough sleep, meditate, eat healthfully and have a balance in my life between work, family and friends and have cultural intellectual stimulation—it’s a lot to ask. But, when that balance is right, I probably feel the most fulfilled and the happiest.” However, she also admits that she has some bad diet habits: “Drinking Coca-Cola – I know it’s not good for me, but I drink it anyway.”
