American actress and a former mixed martial artist Gina Carano had her career beginnings in the late 2000s. She first appeared as a mentor on the TV show Fight Girls. In 2009, she made her acting debut in the direct-to-video film Blood and Bone. Her work in Women’s Mixed Martial Arts led her to be cast in Steven Soderbergh’s movie Haywire. In the movie, she played the lead Mallory Kane. Her next work in Hollywood was as Riley Hicks in Fast & Furious 6. She next starred in the direct-to-video film In the Blood. At the same time, she made her first television acting job in Almost Human. She has since starred in the direct-to-video films Heist and Extraction. In 2016, she played Angel Dust in Deadpool. She recently starred in the 2017 movie Madness in the Method.
The 35-year-old actress stays in shape by sticking to a healthy lifestyle. Aside from eating healthily, she also performs her workout routine quite regularly. In an interview, she talked about her training regimen. She said: “If I’m training for a fight I wake up in the morning and do cardio to warm up, like running on the treadmill or jumping rope, then shadow box for about 15 minutes, then do about two hours of sparring and technique. I repeat the same thing again at night.”
She also likes outdoor activities, saying: “If I’m not training, I like to do anything outdoors like hiking. If I don’t have to be in the gym I usually don’t want to be. I also do yoga and Pilates. Basically the two opposite extremes.” For her film debut in Haywire, she revealed how tough her training was. She revealed: “The training for the movie was actually incredibly intense. I’d do stunt training from 7am-11am, then gun training and Secret Service training. Since fighting brings your body forward so much, I also had to work a lot with a trainer on my back muscles and my butt to straighten me out.”
