Biography:

Gwendoline Christie was born on 28 October 1978 in Worthing, West Sussex, England, UK. She trained in drama school and started her career acting on theater. In 2007, she made her screen debut in the short film The Time Surgeon. Two years later, she made her cinematic debut in the movie The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. In 2010, she had her first appearance on television with Seven Ages of Britain.

In 2012, she gained mainstream recognition after she landed the role of Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones. She has since part of the show’s cast since then. Her performance on the show has earned her a Saturn Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress on Television. During this period, she also starred as Lexi on the TV series Wizards vs Aliens. This year, she played Miranda Hilmarson on the TV series Top of the Lake. She has also played Captain Phasma in the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
