Biography:
Helena Bonham Carter was born on May 26, 1966 in Golders Green, London, England. Her first acting role was in a TV adaptation of A Pattern of Roses. She eventually won her first starring role in the film Lady Jane.
Her breakout role was as Lucy Honeychurch in A Room with a View. In 1997, she received her first Academy Award nomination for Best Actress for her role as Kate Croy in The Wings of the Dove.
She went on to earn much acclaim for her work in The King’s Speech, including an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and winning the BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress.
