Biography:
Hélène Joy was born on 21 October 1978 in Perth, Australia. She started acting professionally by joining a youth theater company. She then attended Curtin University where she studied theater. She left and trained at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts instead. In 1996, she made her television debut in The Man from Snowy River. She next guest-starred in the shows G.P., Water Rats, and Blue Heelers.
From 2002 to 2003, she starred as Judy Surgick in the television show An American in Canada. After this ended, she mostly made guest appearances on various shows. She later landed a main role as Audrey Sweeney in the TV show Durham County. She became further known for her role as Dr. Julia Ogden in Murdoch Mysteries. In addition, she had a recurring role in Pearlie and a starring part in Detentionaire. She’s also acted in the movie Sadie’s Last Days on Earth.
