Iko Uwais is an Indonesian actor. He debuted in the 2009 Indonesian film Merantau. Later in 2011, he starred in the film The Raid. Uwais then worked with Keanu Reeves in the Chinese-American martial arts film Man of Tai Chi. He next reprised his role as Rama in the sequel The Raid 2. In 2015, he made his Hollywood debut appearing in the film Star Wars: The Force Awakens. His next role was in the Indonesian feature Headshot, after which he appeared in the US films Beyond Skyline and Mile 22. More recently, he had performances in the movies The Night Comes for Us, Stuber, and Triple Threat. As of 2019, he plays the lead role in the new Netflix series Wu Assassins.
