Isabelle Huppert is a French actress who first came to prominence in the 1970s. She received her first César nomination for the 1975 movie Aloïse. She later starred in the film The Lacemaker, which won her a BAFTA Award. Her performance in the film Violette Nozière also won her the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival. During the 1980s, she had performances in the films Story of Women and Heaven’s Gate. Later in her career, she starred in English-language movies, including I Heart Huckabees, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, Louder Than Bombs, and Greta. Her performance in the 2016 film Elle also brought her critical acclaim, for which she received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress.
