J. B. Smoove is an American actor and comedian. He started his career in the HBO series Def Comedy Jam in 1995. He later appeared in the films Lesser Prophets and Tomorrow Night. In the 2000s, he starred in the short-lived sketch comedy show Cedric the Entertainer Presents. From 2003 to 2005, he joined the cast of Saturday Night Live where he also worked as a writer. He went on to play Manny in the TV show Everybody Hates Chris. Since 2007, he plays Leon Black in Curb Your Enthusiasm. Smoove went on to star as Ray in the CBS series The Millers. In the movies, he recently played Julius Dell in 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home.
