Biography:
Jack O’Connell was born on 1 August 1990 in Alvaston, Derby, Derbyshire, England. He originally aspired to become a football player. As he got injuries along the way, he shifted his focus. During his teens, he became interested in acting. He soon attended auditions. In 2005, he made his acting debut in an episode of the TV series Doctors. He next appeared as Ross Trescott in 4 episodes of The Bill.
In 2006, he made his cinematic debut in This Is England, which earned him mainstream attention. He has since starred in the movies Eden Lake and Harry Brown. He later became known for his role as James Cook in Skins. In the 2010s, he starred in the TV movies Dive and United. More recently, he starred as Roy Goode in the new series Godless.
