Biography:

James Callis was born on 4 June 1971 in Hampstead, London, England. He completed his degree from the University of York. He further trained in acting by attending London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. In 1996, he made his television debut in Murder Most Horrid. He next appeared in the show Soldier Soldier. He got his break in the 20000s. This was after landing the role of Dr. Gaius Baltar in Battlestar Galactica.

He played the said role from 2004 to 2010. Simultaneously, he acted in the movies Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, Dead Cool, and One Night with the King. He also reprised his role Dr. Gaius Baltar in the TV movie Battlestar Galactica: Razor. In the 2010s, he starred in the short-lived series Eureka and appeared in the films Bridget Jones’s Baby and The Hollow. He now plays a recurring role as Athan/The Witness in 12 Monkeys.
