James Faulkner is an English actor with a career spanning decades. He debuted in the 1972 film The Great Waltz. Later in 1979, he portrayed Teignmouth Melvill in the movie Zulu Dawn. On television, he had his first role in I, Claudius. During the ’80s, he had roles in the films Priest of Love, Eureka, as well as portrayed Simon Kerslake in the TV serial First Among Equals. He became known for his work in the 2000s with roles in the films Bridget Jones’s Diary, Colour Me Kubrick, The Good Shepherd, Hitman, and The Bank Job. In the 2010s, he starred as Pope Sixtus IV in Da Vinci’s Demons, Lord Sinderby in Downton Abbey, and Randyll Tarly in Game of Thrones. His recent works in the movies were in Underworld: Blood Wars, Final Portrait, Atomic Blonde, and Paul, Apostle of Christ.
