Biography:

James Franco was born on April 19, 1978 in Palo Alto, California, USA. He took acting lessons with Robert Carnegie at the Playhouse West.

He has had guest roles in several television shows but it was his role in Freaks and Geeks that gave him his biggest break.

In 2001, he was cast as the title character in the television biographical film James Dean. For his performance, he received a Golden Globe Award and Emmy nominations.

He gained worldwide fame when he landed the role of Harry Osborn in Spider-Man. He reprised his role in Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3.
