James Ransone is an American actor. He started his professional acting career in the early 2000s. He debuted in the 2001 film The American Astronaut. He next had appearances in the movies Ken Park, Nola, A Dirty Shame, and Downtown: A Street Tale. On television, he first became known for his role as Ziggy Sobotka in the HBO series The Wire. Later in 2008, he starred as Cpl. Josh Ray Person in the HBO miniseries Generation Kill. In the 2010s, he played Tim in the short-lived show How to Make It in America. He went on to play Nick in Treme, Damon in Low Winter Sun, Eddie Arceneaux in Bosch, and Michael O’Connor in Mosaic. He recently played Nick Fletcher in the Hulu series The First. This year, he became known for his performances in the films Captive State and It Chapter Two.
