Biography:

James Van Der Beek was born on March 8, 1977 in Cheshire, Connecticut, U.S.. He rose to stardom after being cast as Dawson Leery in Dawson’s Creek. He took a break from acting after the show wrapped up in 2003 and returned on the screen with the 2005 indie movie Standing Still.

He then played recurring roles in Criminal Minds, How I Met Your Mother, and One Tree Hill. He next starred as himself in Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 and as Will Stokes in Friends with Better Lives. Both shows were short-lived. As of 2015, he plays the role of Elijah Mundo in the new CSI spin-off CSI: Cyber. He has also appeared in the films Varsity Blues, The Rules of Attraction, and Labor Day.
