James Woods is an American actor and producer. His career began in the 1970s, debuting in the film The Visitors. He later had roles in the movies The Way We Were, Night Moves, and Alex & the Gypsy. In the ’80s, he gained wider recognition for starring as Maximilian Bercovicz in Sergio Leone’s Once Upon a Time in America. The following decade, he portrayed Joseph Scott in Chaplin, H.R. Haldeman in Nixon and Byron De La Beckwith in Ghosts of Mississippi. He started his work as a producer with the 1998 film Another Day in Paradise. He next appeared as Dr. Harvey Mandrake in Any Given Sunday. He also voiced Hades on Hercules: The Animated Series. In the 2000s, he starred as Sebastian Stark on the TV series Shark. He also starred in Riding in Cars with Boys and John Q.
