Jane Lynch is an American actress. Her Hollywood career began in the 1980s appearing in some films. The following decade, she had roles in the films The Fugitive and Fatal Instinct. In the 2000s, she became more active on television. During this period, she guest starred on many TV shows. Her first main role was on the short-lived series MDs. She then became known for her recurring role as Dr. Linda Freeman on the sitcom Two and a Half Men. For her performance here, she was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. She also became known for playing Joyce Wischnia on The L Word. It was however her role as Sue Sylvester on Glee that brought her international stardom. It also earned a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series in 2010.
