Biography:

Jason Segel was born on January 18, 1980 in Los Angeles, California. Prior to becoming an actor, he played basketball at his high school in Harvard-Westlake School. He then started a career in acting in the late 1990s, first becoming known for his role as Nick in Freaks and Geeks. After the show ended, he played Eric on the TV series Undeclared.

In 2005, he got his major breakthrough as Marshall in How I Met Your Mother, which he played up to its finale in 2014. The fame brought by this exposure led him to have starring roles in the movies Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I Love You, Man, Get Him to the Greek, the last of which he was also the writer and producer. He went on to write, produce, and star in other comedy features like The Muppets, The Five-Year Engagement, and Sex Tape.
