Biography:
Javier Bardem was born on March 1, 1969 in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. He first gained international acclaim in 2007 when he played psychopathic assassin Anton Chigurh in Joel and Ethan Coen’s No Country for Old Men.
For his work in No Country for Old Men, he won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He has also done notable performances in such films as Jamón, jamón, Carne trémula and Boca a boca.
In 2012, he gained further fame for his role as the main antagonist Raoul Silva in the James Bond film Skyfall, for which he also received a BAFTA and a Screen Actors Guild nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
