Biography:
Jay Baruchel was born on April 9, 1982 in Ottawa, Canada. His first ever acting gig was in Are You Afraid of the Dark? where he appeared in four episodes playing different characters. In 1997, he hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids with Elisha Cuthbert. In the early 2000s, he gained significant notice for his role on the TV series Undeclared. In the mid 2000s, he played notable roles on the TV shows The Stones, Just Legal, and Numb3rs. He currently stars in the sitcom Man Seeking Woman.
Since 2012, he’s been providing the voice of Hiccup in DreamWorks Dragons, as well as in the 2010 animated film How to Train Your Dragon and its sequels. He’s also established a prolific career as a film actor, playing supporting roles in Knocked Up, Tropic Thunder, Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist, and Fanboys before landing the male lead in the romantic comedy She’s Out of My League. In 2014, he played Tom Pope in RoboCop.
