Jemaine Clement is a New Zealand actor. He’s also a screenwriter and director. He made his acting debut in the 1995 low budget film Blood Suckers. In 2002, he starred in the film Tongan Ninja, for which he also wrote. Later in 2009, he starred in the movie Gentlemen Broncos. For his performance, he got an Independent Spirit Award nomination for Best Supporting Male. Meanwhile, he had his major breakthrough as Jemaine in the HBO series Flight of the Conchords where he also served as co-creator, writer, and executive producer. More recently, he played recurring roles Father Black Donahue in Another Period and Julian Renaut in Divorce. As of 2017, he stars as Oliver Bird in the FX series Legion. He will also play Dr. Ian Garvin in the upcoming Avatar 2 and Avatar 3.
