Hollywood star Jenna Ushkowitz started her acting career in the early 2000s. Her debut was in an episode of Little Bill. Prior to her television career, Jenna was already performing on stage. In the mid-2000s, she was cast in a stage production of Spring Awakening. She next appeared in an episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Her mainstream came after landing the role of Tina Cohen-Chang in the musical series Glee. The success of the show put her and her castmates in the spotlight during its airing from 2009 to 2015. She also starred in the concert film Glee: The 3D Concert Movie. More recently, she’s ventured into producing, starting with the 2014 movie Twinsters. This year, she appeared in the films Yellow Fever and Hello Again.
The former Glee star has struggled with her weight for a long time. In an interview, she admitted that she’s even tried many fad diets just to lose weight. She said: “I’ve probably tried every fad diet in the world. At one point, I even thought, “Oh, I’ll take diet pills.” I tried it for one day, and I thought my heart was going to explode. It’s awful, and I would never, ever recommend it.” But she’s already learned her lesson. Now, she’s managed to lose weight and maintain it through proper nutrition and exercise.
She explained: “Why do I even bring it up? Because honestly, in the end, nothing works like eating right and exercising, and moderation is the key to it all. Instead of trying crazy diets now, I just live by a few easy rules: I try to stay away from white flour as much as I can — I go for grains and brown rice instead, and I pick lean meats, like chicken or turkey, over red meat most of the time.”
