Biography:

Jennifer Beals was born on December 19, 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, United States. She was inspired to be an actress when she joined the school production of Fiddler on the Roof.

After graduating from Francis W. Parker School, she was accepted at the prestigious Goodman Theatre Young People’s Drama Workshop. She then studied at Yale University where she earned her B.A. in American Literature.

She first gained notice for her leading role in Flashdance, for which she received a Golden Globe nomination for her performance. She went on to star in other films like The Bride, Vampire’s Kiss, Devil in a Blue Dress, and Runaway Jury, among others.
