She was first the singer of Soul Miner’s Daughter and Jennifer Nettles Band before collaborating with Kristian Bush with the duo Sugarland. The duo received a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist in 2006. Their duet performance with Bon Jovi in the song “Who Says You Can’t Go Home” reached atop the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. Recently, Nettles ventured into acting. She debuted in the 2015 television film Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors where she played Avie Lee Parton. She reprised her role in Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love. As of 2019, she plays Aimee-Leigh Gemstone in the HBO series The Righteous Gemstones.
