Biography:

Jessica Lange was born on April 20, 1949 in Cloquet, Minnesota, USA. She attended University of Minnesota where she received a scholarship to study art and photography. She worked as a model and was subsequently offered the female lead in King Kong.

She starred in various films before landing the role of Frances Farmer in Frances and Julie Nichols in Tootsie. She earned an Academy Award nomination for each of the film, making her the only artist in 40 years to received two Academy Award nominations in the same year.

She eventually won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her work in Tootsie.
