Biography:

Jim Carrey was born on January 17, 1962 in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. He first gained notice in 1990 when he starred in the sketch comedy Living Color.

He then starred in major productions such as Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Dumb and Dumber, The Mask and Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls and The Cable Guy, among others.

In 1997, he starred in the film Liar, Liar, for which he received his first Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actor. The following year, he received his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in the film The Truman Show.
