Jimmy Smits is an American actor. His acting career spans decades starting in the 1980s. His first starring role was as Victor Sifuentes in the TV series L.A. Law, which he played from 1986–1992. At the same time, he had roles in the films Running Scared, The Believers, and Switch, among others. Afterward, Smits gained wider recognition for his role as Detective Bobby Simone in NYPD Blue. In the 2000s, the actor starred as Matt Santos in The West Wing. He next starred in the TV shows Cane, Dexter, and Outlaw. Later in 2012, he played the part of Neron ‘Nero’ Padilla in Sons of Anarchy. He later starred in the TV shows The Get Down, 24: Legacy, How to Get Away with Murder, and Bluff City Law.
