Biography:
Joan Allen was born on August 20, 1956 in Rochelle, Illinois, USA. She started her career performing on stage. In 1984, she won a Clarence Derwent Award in And a Nightingale Sang. She made her Broadway debut performance in Burn This, for which she received a Tony Award.
She went on to receive Academy Award nominations for her roles as Pat Nixon in Nixon and as Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible for Best Supporting Actress.
She gained further recognition when she starred as Pamela Landy in The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum and The Bourne Legacy.
