Biography:
Joanne Froggatt was born on August 21, 1980 in Littlebeck, North Yorkshire, England, UK. In 1996, at the age of 16, she made her television debut in the drama The Bill.
She has since appeared in other shows including Coronation Night, Bad Girls, Dinnerladies, A Touch of Frost, Casualty, Red Cap, The Last Detective, Island at War and Life on Mars, among others.
In 2006, she gained wider recognition after being cast as Maureen Smith in the television movie See No Evil: The Moors Murders. She then went on to secure the part of Anna Smith / Anna Bates in Downtown Abbey.
