Joaquim de Almeida is a Portuguese actor. His acting career began in the 1980s. He made his film debut in 1982’s The Soldier. He next appeared in the British-Mexican film The Honorary Consul, followed by Good Morning, Babylon. In 1990, he portrayed Augusto César Sandino in the biographical film Sandino. He later made his Hollywood debut as Col. Felix Cortez in the film Clear and Present Danger. At the same time, he appeared in the movie Only You. He later had a supporting role in Desperado. In the 2000s, he had notable roles in the films Behind Enemy Lines and The Burning Plain. In the 2010s, he starred in Fast Five, Our Brand is Crisis, and The Hitman’s Bodyguard. He also plays Don Epifanio in the series Queen of the South.
