Joaquin Phoenix is an American actor and producer. His career began in the 1980s, first debuting in the 1985 film Kids Don’t Tell. He next had roles in the films SpaceCamp and Russkies. He later gained recognition for playing Garry Buckman in the 1989 film Parenthood. The following decade, he had roles in the films To Die For, Inventing the Abbotts, and 8mm. He became further known for his role as Commodus in the 2000 movie Gladiator. He went on to star in the films Signs, The Village, Hotel Rwanda, Ladder 49, and Reservation Road. In 2010, he co-wrote and produced the mockumentary feature I’m Still Here. He later starred in the acclaimed films The Master, Her, and Inherent Vice. He will play the titular character in the 2019 upcoming movie Joker.
