Biography:

Joel McHale was born on November 20, 1971 in Rome, Italy. He attended University of Washington where he completed his history degree. After completing his master’s degree in acting, he relocated to Los Angeles. Early in his career, he had one-time roles in such shows as The Fugitive, Diagnosis: Murder, and Will & Grace. He then became known as the host of the television series The Soup.

He gained wider recognition for starring as Jeff Winger in the sitcom Community, which aired on NBC from 2009 to 2015. At the same time, he had performances in the films The Informant!, Spy Kids: All the Time in the World, What’s Your Number?, The Big Year, Ted, and many others. He also starred in the short-lived show The Great Indoors and hosted his own show, The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale. Currently, McHale hosts Card Sharks and plays Sylvester Pemberton / Starman in Stargirl.
