Biography:

Joely Richardson was born on January 9, 1965 in Marylebone, London, England. She is the daughter of actress of Vanessa Redgrave and director Tony Richardson. She attended the Thacher School in California where she graduated in 1983.

She had a leading role in Peter Greenaway’s cult success Drowning by Numbers in 1988, which led to her major role as Joanna Farley in a television episode of Poirot in 1989.

She has also appeared in other major films such as The Patriot opposite Mel Gibson, and portrayed French queen Marie Antoinette in the 2001 film The Affair of the Necklace.
