John Turturro is an American actor. He has since ventured into filmmaking. He started acting in the early 1980s where he was first noticed for his role in 1987’s Five Corners. He later gained wider recognition for his role in the 1989 film Do the Right Thing. In the ’90s, he started collaborating with the Coen brothers with Miller’s Crossing and Barton Fink. For his performance in the latter, he won the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Film Festival. In 1998, he starred as Jesus Quintana in The Big Lebowski. In the 2000s, he had roles in the films The Jesus Rolls and O Brother, Where Art Thou? More recently, he played Seymour Simmons in the Transformers film series. He’ll also play Carmine Falcone in the upcoming film The Batman. On TV, he had notable performances in the miniseries The Night Of and The Plot Against America.
