Johnny Depp was born on June 9, 1963 in Owensboro, Kentucky, USA. He rose to fame in the TV series 21 Jump Street, catapulting him as a teen idol.

He became known for his challenging roles in such films as Edward Scissorhands, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Alice in Wonderland and the Pirates of the Caribbean film series.
