English actor Jonathan Bailey started his acting career at a young age performing in theater productions. In 1997, he made his television debut in an episode of Bramwell. He later appeared in the TV films Bright Hair and Alice through the Looking Glass. Later in 2001, he starred as Josh in Baddiel’s Syndrome, which marked his first main role on the small screen. After this, he played the part of Stephen Martin in the miniseries The Golden Hour.
He also ventured into cinema with his debut in 2004’s Five Children and It. In 2007, he had performances in the films Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Permanent Vacation, and St Trinian’s. Bailey became further known for his role as Olly Stevens in Broadchurch and Jack Patterson in W1A. Having a prolific career, he’s since had notable roles in such TV programs as Crashing, Hooten & the Lady, and Jack Ryan. At the same time, he’s had performances in the films Testament of Youth, The Young Messiah, and The Mercy. Recently, the actor starred as Anthony Bridgerton in Bridgerton.
Jonathan Bailey had to undergo some skills training for his latest role in Netflix’s Bridgerton, which for him was like going through workouts as well. “It was like a Regency boot camp, and it’s something that I could only hope that everyone could buy into,” said the actor. “It was kind of a workout because we did loads of boxing, loads of horse riding, which was brilliant.” Normally, the actor works out a couple of times in a week by combining cardio and some weights.
