Biography:

Josh Hartnett was born on July 21, 1978 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, United States. He was originally into sports until an injury stopped him from pursuing on being an athlete that he shifted his interest into acting instead. In 1997, he began playing Michael “Fitz” Fitzgerald in Cracker, marking his TV debut.

The following year, he made his theatrical debut in Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and gained recognition for playing Trip Fontaine in Sofia Copolla’s The Virgin Suicides. In 2001, he became exposed to a wider audience after starring alongside Ben Affleck in Pearl Harbor. He has since starred in Black Hawk Down, 40 Days and 40 Nights and Wicker Park. In addition, he now plays Ethan Chandler in Penny Dreadful.
