It was in 1992 that Hollywood actress Judy Reyes started acting professionally. Her debut was in Law & Order. During the next few years, she spent her time appearing in one-episode roles. Her first notable role was as Tina Rivera in five episodes of Oz. She then gained attention for her role as Nurse Carla Espinosa in Scrubs.
After her role on the show ended in 2009, she starred in the movies Gun Hill Road and Without Men. From 2013 to 2016, she returned to stardom again courtesy of her role as Zoila Diaz in Devious Maids. At the same time, she played recurring character Dina Milagro in Jane the Virgin. This year, she appeared in four episodes of One Day At A Time. She also joined the main cast of the new series Claws and appeared in the movie The Circle.
The television star maintains her fit body and overall health by being active. She makes an effort and finds the time to exercise regularly. In an interview, she talked about her struggles with finding the right fitness regimen for her. She said: “I’ve never loved spending time on the machines at the gym. But I have discovered an exercise regimen I can dedicate myself to: yoga. It’s changed my body. Before, I could only do ‘girl’ push-ups. But poses like downward dog and the plank have strengthened my arms. I’ve finally mastered regular push-ups!”
She also talked about the importance of sticking to her health goals, that working out is not just to stay slim but to feel good inside and out. She said: “For years I exercised to be thinner, and I never got the results I wanted. When I finally started working out to be healthier, I saw a transformation. I’ve even quit weighing myself so I don’t obsess over the numbers. Now I determine my weight by how my clothes feel. In the last two years, I’ve dropped a size-probably about 10 pounds.”
