Biography:

Julianna Margulies was born on June 8, 1966 in Spring Valley, New York. She studied acting in the Meisner Technique class at The Acting Studio, Inc. in New York from 1988 to 1989.

Her first acting role was in the film Out for Justice. After her impressive performance in the pilot episode of E.R., she went on to play the role of Nurse Carol Hathaway.

Her performance in E.R. won her an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Television Drama in 1994. She consistently received nominations every year for this award during her tenure.
