Biography:

Julianne Moore was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina on December 3, 1960. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Performing Arts in Boston University.

She moved to New York after graduating and began her career with off-Broadway theatre and television. Her first screen role came in 1984, in the soap opera The Edge of Night.

She made her breakthrough with Robert Altman’s Short Cuts and further gained prominence in the late 1990s and early 2000s, receiving Oscar nominations for Boogie Nights, The End of the Affair, Far from Heaven and The Hours.
