Actress Julie Benz has since had a prolific career on the small screen. Starting her TV career on Hi Honey, I’m Home!, she’s since established herself as a TV staple. First, she played Darla on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and simultaneously played Kathleen Topolsky on Roswell. She then reprised her role as Darla on the spin-off Angel. She later gained fame for playing Rita Bennett on Dexter. Her performance here gained her a Satellite Award for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries or Television Film. Afterwards, she appeared as Robin Gallagher on Desperate Housewives. Later, she joined the main cast of No Ordinary Family as Stephanie Powell. This year, she starred as Holly Butler on the TV series Training Day.
Looking at her physique, it is apparent that the 45-year-old actress takes care of herself by working out. She doesn’t get complacent. And she definitely doesn’t get careless when it comes to her fitness. She practices an active lifestyle along with a healthy diet to keep her body lean and toned. But what exactly is her fitness regimen? Reports said that Julie performs a combination of spin and Pilates. In an interview, she said: “I always say—when I’m really doing Pilates, hardcore, and on a regular basis—I don’t have to wear Spanx—because Pilates is my Spanx!” she says. “It just tightens everything up, and it doesn’t create any bulk.”
When her schedule gets too busy and she finds herself unable to go to the gym, she gets resourceful with her exercise. She does this by doing small exercises throughout the day. This includes a 10-minute abs regimen.
She added: “I travel with my elastic bands, a mini ball, ankle weights, and a Pilates magic circle, and I can work out in any hotel room wherever I go. There’s no excuse.”
