Julie Walters is an English actress. She started her acting career on television in the 1970s. In 1983, she made her cinematic debut as the lead star in the film Educating Rita. Later in 1987, she starred in the film Personal Services. The following decade, she gained wider recognition for her performances in the movies Stepping Out and Sister My Sister. She continued her prolific career in the 2000s with roles in the films Billy Elliot, Calendar Girls, Wah-Wah, Driving Lessons, and Becoming Jane. She then starred as Rosie in 2008’s Mamma Mia! She reprised the role in the 2018 sequel Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. She also starred as Cynthia Coffin in the TV series Indian Summers.
